This work is from a series of assemblages made from discarded items.  My inspiration comes from relationships I have formed as a resident of Waukegan.  By repurposing discarded items into a redeemed image, I am investigating how the self-image of someone who feels devalued can change.  By employing compositional elements in Eastern Orthodox iconography, my goal is to use broken pieces to depict people who have been restored through the creative rearrangement of divine grace.
